NEW YORKERS

   This week, I read NEW YORKERS. This book has some short stories, so I could enjoy reading them without getting tired.

   I want to introduce one episode. It is "The Christmas Presents". This is a story of two poor couple. The husband said,

   "It doesn't matter if your hair is short or long. But if you open that, you'll see why I was unhappy at first."

He bought combs for her hair by selling his gold watch, but she sold her hair to buy a gold chain for his watch. So, he was unhappy when he saw her short hair. I liked and I was moved this episode. This was good story.

   This book has another stories, they are also exciting. You will know what kind of people live in New York and what makes them laugh and cry.

A LITTLE PRINCESS

   Last week, I read this book. A girl, Sara is a very good girl, and she has a rich father. When she went to school in London, she has many friends. Everyone likes her, and she was so happy, then. But her 11th birthday, she knew a bad news, so she became a poor girl....

   I liked this story, because Sara could sand a happy life, finaly, and she found true friends.

   I want to introduce some sentenses from this story. The first one is:

"You are only a little girl, like me. Let's be friends."

This is Sara's serif to Becky who is a servant. Sara is rich and Becky is poor, so they don't allowed to become friends. But Sara is very kind, and she give her food and talk with Becky, secretly.

The second one is:

"I was in the house next door."

This is Mr carrisford's serif. He is a rich person, and he was looking for Sara for two years. She was near for him, but he didn't notice, because Sara became a servant. It was good to meet them finaly.

This book is easy to read, so please try this!!
