The Promise (1977)

     This week, I read "the Promise" by R.L Scott-Buccleuch. I thought thi s is a movimg story. I wrote down three quotes and will discuss them.
     The first one is :

"He was small and thin and weak, but he did not die." (p.9)

I thought his vitality was strong, and it was great that a weak child could become a professional footballer.
     The second one is :

"A Corinthians striker jumped in the air and headed the ball past the goalkeeper into the net. Another goal for Corinthians!” (p.22)

In this game, Paulo scored and made an outstanding performance. I was impressed by this scene.
     The third one is :

          "It was a great day for Palito and for Pedro. And  fpr all the family and Palito's old friends far away in Salvador." (p.55)



He cured an injury and was able to participate in a game again. He scored, and his name was heard all over Brazil. It is amazing.

     This setting is Brazil, and you will be able to feel watching the game. Language difficulty-there are a little difficult words, and a long story. I give this book 5 stars out of ten.

Treasure Island (1993)

     Last week, I read "Treasure Island". I liked this book, because I was excited.
As if I were in the adventure world, so I was interesting. From now, I wrote down three quotes and will discuss them.

     The first one is:"I thought that he would shout. But the Captain said nothing." (p.14)

I thought the Captain endured, and I couldn't understand why he didn't shot the bad guy.

      The second one is:"He told jokes and laughed. He pointed to the ships around us and told me stories about them." (p.22)

From this part, I thought John Silver is good person, but he is a little  doubtful.

     The third one is:"'Thank you, Doctor,' Silver said to Dr Livesey. 'You came at the right time.'" (p.55)

 I couldn't understand why Doctor helped Silver because I thought they were enemies each other.

      I want to recommend this book. About the language difficulty - it was easy to read - I give this book 7 stars out of 10.
